Here are the top five stories in Dallas-Hiram today:
- Paulding County is working with the cities of Dallas, Hiram, and Braswell to create the Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). Paulding County is the 13th largest county in all of Georgia, and rapidly expanding. In order to continue to provide residents with safe, effective, and reliable transportation options, officials have set up a public meeting on Thursday, Sep. 29, to discuss the ins and outs of the proposed program. Citizens are encouraged to show up to ask questions, get more information on the plan, and share their own opinions and experiences regarding Paulding County transportation. (Paulding County Government)
- This weekend marks the popular annual event Savage Race & Savage Blitz Georgia Fall 2022 at the Moonlight Stables Equestrian Center. Saturday will see athletes from all over the Dallas-Hiram area take on one of the most exciting and diverse obstacle courses in the country. The courses include rope climbing, crawling through complex courses, and scaling treacherous walls. There are two courses to choose from at the event: Savage Blitz, which comes with up to 20 obstacles and covers over three miles, or the more challenging Savage Race, which has athletes tackling over 27 obstacles in a course ranging up to seven miles. (Savage Race)
- Fall is back, and so is the First Weekend of Fall Potluck at the Highlands Community Church. The annual event provides members of the church to come together and celebrate not only fall but the community as a whole. People are asked to show up at the event with a fall-themed recipe to share with everyone. This is a great opportunity to spend time celebrating with the community while eating tasty fall treats. (Highlands Community Church)
- Music lovers, listen up: The Strand Ole Opry Revival will be performing this Sunday, Sep. 25, in a loving tribute to this classic Southern tradition. Local musicians from around the Cobb County area will be paying homage to the sounds of the South in the best tradition of the Grand Ole Opry. Storytellers will be on hand as well to share tales about the history and culture of the music this event was created to celebrate. (Travel Cobb)
