How much does a pallet of sod cost? Well, we carry a lot of different varieties of sod or grass. Most of them, we sell only by the 450 square foot pallet. The only one that we sell by the piece is the Raleigh St. Augustine. That’s the one that we try to keep in stock year round, and we do sell it by the pallet or by the 16 by 24 inch piece.
The first price break is at 10 pallets, and then a truckload is 16 pallets, and we offer a price break there as well. We also offer wholesale pricing to landscapers and contractors. You can call us for those prices at 281-431-7441.
Certainly buying any of the grasses by the pallet is the better value as opposed to buying it by the piece. So that’s something to consider. But I’ll go through each of the varieties here.
We’re not going to mention specific pricing in the videos because the pricing does change year to year. We always keep our pricing sheet updated though.

Cost of a Pallet of St. Augustine Grass
We have kind of three different groups of grass varieties — St. Augustine grasses, Bermuda grasses and Zoysia grasses. For the St. Augustines, we have Raleigh St. Augustine and Palmetto St. Augustine. Cobalt St. Augustine has been added in 2024.
Raleigh St. Augustine, which is the cheapest grass that we carry and it’s probably 90% of what we sell. It’s also the most popular lawn grass in the Houston area. Raleigh St. Augustine grass is the one that we keep in the yard and sell by the piece.
We also carry the Palmetto St. Augustine, which is the one that you would need If you have shade issues. Raleigh St. Augustine needs six or seven hours of direct sunlight per day. Palmetto St. Augustine, which looks very similar to the Raleigh St. Augustine, can survive on four or five hours of direct sunlight per day. We have a lot less of Palmetto St. Augustine at our farm, and we run out of it a lot. So that one is more expensive. I believe right now it’s about $40 to $50 per pallet more than the Raleigh St. Augustine. Still both are less than the Zoysia grasses.
Cost of a Pallet of Bermuda Grass
We carry two different types of Bermuda grass, which are the Texturf 10 and the Tifway 419. The Tifway 419 is the finer bladed Bermuda grass. It’s the one that they use on tee boxes and in the fairways on golf courses. It’s just a little bit coarser and it’s something that you might see more kind of growing out in nature. It looks more like common Bermuda grass.
Then there are the two Bermuda grasses that we carry there. They are priced the same, and they are the Tifway 419 and Texturf 10. And they run within five or $10 of the Raleigh St. Augustine. So Bermuda grass is on the lower end of the price spectrum when you’re looking at St. Augustine, Bermuda grass and Zoysia grass.
Cost of a Pallet of Zoysia Grass
We carry three different types of Zoysia. We carry Palisades Zoysia, which is the little bit thicker bladed one. And we carry Emerald and Cavalier, which are the thinner bladed Zoysias. The Zoysias are certainly on the highest end of the price spectrum. They all break the $200 mark.
So Zoysias are certainly the most expensive grass varieties, and they’re all within $5 or $10 of each other as of this video.

As you can see that if you do the math, buying a half-pallet is a lot more economical than buying it by the piece if you need it, and then buying a full pallet is a little bit cheaper still. As I mentioned before, we also give quantity discounts so the more grass you buy, the cheaper it gets.
